The VanLare Residence
New Rochelle, NY
The VanLare residence is the home to Aeolian Organ Opus 1654. Due to water damage from a flooded basement, the organ was in need of major rebuilding. With the exception of the Echo division, harp & chimes, the organ’s mechanism and control system were updated and replaced with new. Windchests throughout were newly constructed, the existing console electro-pneumatic switching and combination action system was replaced with solid-state systems. The pipework was be cleaned and repaired, and each pipe was placed on our voicing machine for proper tone and uniform speech. While not an historic restoration, functionality was the focus with components that offer expanded capability and greater reliability. The original Aeolian components were retained for historical value.
