St. Mary’s Church
Parsons recently removed the historic 29 rank, 1890 Carl Barckoff organ at St. Mary’s Church of Auburn, NY. This project will conserve a 126 year old pipe organ, and help it continue to serve it’s church for decades to come.
We are excited to be a part of this project and will keep you updated when shop work begins!
We are still plugging along to the best of our ability here out in Bristol. The main two windchests are ready to have some assembly work done on them, and pedal chest aren’t far behind.
In addition, we have finished with the stop actions and are currently working on releathering pallets, stenciling all of the new 35 facade pipes, building the new double rise resevoir, and much more!
Parsons is still hard at work on this historic restoration. The bulk of the work lately has been focused on the major task of retabling the chests that were signifigantly bowed. Thankfully, that is going great and we’ve made a lot of progress. We’ve also been restoring the stop action for the swell and the great, and continuing the other small projects. We’ll keep you updated as things progess!
Currently we have a lot going on with this organ! As you see in the pictures we’ve been busy. We’ve gone through the pipes to look for any damage, fixed, cleaned and re-leathered them. We’ve been busy with chests, examining original craftsmanship and figuring out the best way to restore them while keeping a historic feel. Documentation is key; we’ve meticulously gone through all toeboards, chests, mechanical action parts and much more to be sure the organ will work to it’s fullest potential.
We are excited about this extremely interesting project and as work continues we’ll be sure to keep you posted!
